Welcome to Anime Utopia. My webpage dedicated to all things anime. Here you can read about my favourite series, characters, songs, everything anime. I'm a complete anime junkie.

First, a bit of history. I got into anime the same way a lot of people did: through watching the show Sailor Moon. It was on before school, and I was just in love with it. My older brother Ethan then introduced me to anime movies. The first anime movie I ever watched was "Vampire Hunter D".

After Sailor Moon R went off the air, I fell out of anime. There wasn't any good stuff on TV, and I wasn't aware of the anime invasion going on video.

When Sailor Moon S came on the air, I started to get back into anime. It was aired later in Canada, so my friend Lenora was kind enough to tape it for me. I watched every episode Len sent me, completely in love with the series. Yet, I was still anime deprived.

It was only after Ethan introduced me to Jennifer and Stephanie that I truly became a Otaku. Ethan had told Jen that I was into Sailor Moon. After a concert my brothers had played at, I ended up talking to Jenn for a long time about anime. She gave me her phone number and told me to call her, that she would get me into some really good anime. I ended up chickening out of calling Jen. I was never good at calling people on the phone.

Anyway, a few months passed and I didn't talk to Jen. Then, Jen and Steph showed up at my house with an anime they had purchased from the convention AnimeNorth. It was Generator Gawl. They were going to watch it with Ethan. I didn't plan on it, but I ended up staying downstairs and watching Gawl. I fell in love with it and was disappointed they only had a few episodes. Jen said she and Steph would come over the next day with another anime. Being a shy person, I almost chickened out of hanging out with them. But I decided against it, and Jenn and Steph came over. They brought with them.... Fushigi Yuugi! Oh, I was in complete HEAVEN! This was what I had been waiting for.

Jen and Steph invited me to go with them to Toronto the next Thursday. They took me to their favourite places to buy anime. I stayed the night at their house, where we watched more Fushigi Yuugi, and the entire series of Legend of Basara. I was officially on my way to becoming an Otaku.

Eight months later, I am deep in Otaku-ness. Jenn and Steph are my closest friends. We co-founded an anime club together, The Underground Otaku Generation. I've been to a convention, where I dressed up (as Sarasa from Legend of Basara). I am working on my first fandub and have become fasinated with anime music videos. I have also amassed quite the anime collection.

Check out my world of anime. I hope you'll enjoy it.
