WHAT ARE BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER AND ANGEL?

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER is one of the best cult series to ever be on television. The show started on the WB. It is based on the movie starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry. The television show stars Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers, the teenaged hip chick who is the Chosen One; the one with the ability and strength to destroy the vampires, demons and other nasty stuff. Buffy is aided by hacker/recovering magic-addict Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan), "everyman" construction worker Xander Harris (Nicholas Brendon), former vengence demon Anya Jenkins (Emma Caulfield), bratty little sister/mystical key Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg). A frequent thorn in Buffy's side is Spike (James Marsters) a bad-ass, platnium-haired vampire. Unfortunately, a group of demon hunters "defanged" Spike and he is forced to aid the Slayer.Buffy and Spike have gotten hot and heavy.

Former allies of Buffy have been English Watcher Rupert Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), lyncanthrope guitarist Daniel "Oz" Osbourne (Seth Green) Wicca Tara MacClay (Amber Benson) and demon hunting army guy Riley Finn (Marc Blucas).

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" just ended its successful seven-year run, on the network UPN (it switched stations after the fifth season). It will be remembered as one of the cleverest shows on television.

Buffy used to have a hot and heavy relationship with the tormented vampire with a soul, Angel (David Boreanaz). But the relationship ended when Angel went to Los Angeles, to escape his star-crossed love.

ANGEL is the spin-off show. After leaving Buffy, Angel met up with a half-demon named Doyle (Glenn Quinn). Doyle got visions of people in trouble from "The Powers That Be". Both of them, along with former friend of Buffy, Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter), help the innocents in Los Angeles. When Doyle died, he was joined by former Watcher Wesley Wyndam-Pryce (and Doyle's visions went to Cordelia). He eventually aquired three more allies, vampire hunting gang member Charles Gunn (J. August Richards), Tinkerer Winnifred "Fred" Burkle (Amy Acker) and demon Karoke bar host Lorne (Andy Hallett). During his time in Los Angeles, Angel had a son, Connor (Vincent Kartheiser) with his vampire lover, Darla. He took over the evil law firm Wolfram and Hart and Spike came to Los Angeles.

Unfortunately, Angel was cancelled due to an idiotic move by the WB. It went out on top, still a brilliant show. While there is no Buffyverse show on at the moment, it remains a favourite. There are rumours of an animated series set in Buffy's second season going around.
