Methos has been many things in his life, but he loves nothing more than being a scholar. He has spent thousands of years keeping journals, teaching, learning and being around intellectuals.

Joe Dawson is a Watcher. He has dedicated his life to watching immortals. For many years he watched Duncan MacLeod. However, with the years catching up to him, and Duncan's life becoming more troublesome, Joe has had to leave this position. He is now training young Watchers and attempting to change the hypocracy of the Watcher's Council.

Amanda is the wiley thief who was romanced Duncan MacLeod for most of his life. She started out as a street urchin. Amanda has just come from Paris, after being entangled with Nick Wolfe. She is wanted in both the United States and France, and she thought England might offer some new chances.

Rose is the enigmatic friend of Methos. She is nearly 1,000 years old, and just as wiley as her teacher/companion. She has been a writer for several hundred years, but she is also an artist (her current persona, Rose Marlowe, is an art restorer) She is the "Mia Farrow" of immortality, having adopted/fostered over a hundred children in her life.

A mortal raised by Rosalyn since he was five, Douglas has known of immortals since he was eight. Douglas is a lawyer in California, but is always willing to come to England to help his mother.
