I'm pretty normal... Well, Monkees normal. I'm a young woman who is constantly called "crazy", "insane" and "out of her skull". Is it wrong that I think these are compliments?

Look around the society. Over the years a lot of stuff has been collected her on the wild, crazy Monkees.

The short and skinny of it? Collectively, the Monkees were a band in the sixties. They were created to be the focus of a TV show called (what else) "The Monkees". The show ran from 1966 to 68, in which many memorable episodes were made. In its first season, "the Monkees" won two Emmys. It was nominated for another in its second season. The group came out with a movie, HEAD, which is now regarded as a cult masterpiece.

The Monkees, which was invented to be a television band, actually came out with albums. They released six albums with all four members, two with three members, and one as just a duo. In 1986, for the 20th anniversary, three of the members returned for a new album. In 1996, all four joined for one last group effort.

FOR THE LAST TIME NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While for several of their albums had studio musicians (as most bands in their time) Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork were hired for their musical ability. Micky Dolenz played guitar in a band before joining the show, and was taught how to play the drums. Davy Jones was the Artful Dodger in Oliver before becoming a Monkee, he also had an album called David Jones. On the albums HEADQUARTERS and PISCES AQUARIUS, CAPRICORN AND JONES LTD The band (for the most part) played their own instruments. The band toured. On their 1996 album, Justus, they wrote, played and produced every track.
