• Rudolph Martin plays the previously mentioned, but unseen "Immortal". In "Buffy vs Dracula", he played Dracula. He was chosen to play the Immortal for his "Euro-trash good looks" and because Buffy's attraction to Dracula would make her attracted to someone who looked like him.
  • With the exceptions of Charisma Carpenter, Amber Benson, Emma Caulfield and Glenn Quinn (whose character all died during the course of their shows), all regular cast members from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and The Nyazian Prophecies appear.
  • The unnamed Japanese Slayer from "Chosen" appears at the Slayer School. She is finally given a name: Yuki. This is a reference to Emcee's Harry Potter character, Yuki Maeda. The reference to Harry Potter is increased by the fact that Yuki is a Slayer who has also learned magic.
  • Connor's identity as Angel's son is revealed publicly for the first time, with every surviving regular finding out about him.
  • Despite being a Buffyverse movie, four members of the Firefly cast appear: Jewel Staite (Macayle Stewart), Nathan Fillion (Caleb) and Adam Baldwin (Marcus Hamilton), Gina Torres (Jasmine)
  • Cut from the movie is reference to Faith being romantically involved with Macayle "Doc" Stewart.
  • An early draft of the script had a fierce battle between Angel and Connor versus Buffy and Salome, who were being controlled by Wolfram and Hart.
  • The first scene written for the movie was Angel and Buffy's confrontation about Connor.
  • Salome is first referred to as Jewish, after several allusions in The Nyazian Prophecies.
  • Vaughn, from "The Killer in Me", appears as a member of the Watcher's Council. This is a reference to "The Destroyer", in which Vaughn has a sizeable role.
  • Marks the death of Harmony.
  • After allusions to a connection in TNP, Illyria is revealed to be the creator of the Nyazian species, who were acolytes in her army.
  • The Immortal's new girlfriend, Gabriella, was featured in the Nyazian Prophecies 1x16: Sugar and Spice. She was the prostitute who hit on both Wesley and Connor. At the end of the episode, she said she was going to Italy. Her species-- Delaf-- is mentioned for the first time. It is a reference to Fleur Delacour, the part-Veela from the Harry Potter series. Gabriella bears a great resemblance to a Veela, as a pale, siren-like demon.
  • Ethan Rayne is referenced as still being in government custody.
  • An early draft had Andrew going along with the rescuers and, when he finds his brother is involved, beating in up... Including giving him a wedgie, noogie and wet wille to pay Tucker back for abuse as children.
