Condemned

SYNOPSIS: Where do Dementors come from? Why haven't we seen any wizard graveyards? Could the two be somehow connected?
RATING: PG-13
DISCLAIMER: "Harry Potter" and all of its characters are property of J.K Rowling and her publishers.
Author's Note: This was completely inspired by Rissy and JJ's awesome potrayals of Regulus and Sirius in last night's fight on "First War". They are... my stars (pun intended)

I remembered laughing together. Out together on a clear summer's day, climbing
rocks near our summer home. I vainly attempted to keep up with you. I was smaller,
unable to reach the same height so quickly.
You barked out a laugh, your grey eyes shining. "Come on! Keep up now!"
When we went home, faces muddy, knees scrapped, you took the lead. I hid behind
you and we faced against mother.
You were my hero. I would have done anything to make you proud of me.
Then you jumped off your pedestal. You turned your back on us, your birthright.
You left me to carry on our family name. You broke mother's heart and disgraced
your name.
I had to make mother proud for both of us. It was no longer good enough to just
marry well, to have heirs. I had to prove to mother I was not like you. I was
better.
I served the Dark Lord, bringing honour back to our name.
Then I saw how deep your betrayal went. You never saw my face, but I saw yours;
so full of bravado and arrogance. It was the same expression you wore when wrestled
me to the ground. You were so sure you would always win.
I was posed to taken you down, to finally win. I had my wand at your chest.
All I needed to do was to speak the curse.
Then I remembered those grey eyes. Eyes that once showed me nothing but brotherly
love. I remembered all the good times we spent together.
I ran. I ran as far as I could. I could not take your life, I could not follow
my orders.
But I did not run far enough. I saw his wand, his cold, black eyes. I knew what
was to come.
Would you cry over my end? Would your grey eyes show a flicker of regret?
Before I could decide the answer, my world went green.
